River

Shizuko's eyes widen as Shin's word echos in her head.

Minefield...

Shizuko quickly speeds up and grabs Mitsukai by the arm and stops her from jumping anymore. "STOP!!" Shizuko shouted in Mitsukai's ear on purpose to get her attention, "Did you not just here Shin-san?! Minefield!" Shizuko's calm expression was changed into disgust as the smell of explosives were getting sucked into her nostrils which really disgusted her. Her sense of smell was very sensitive but only when she was really paying attention and since was paying attention, the smell was worse for her than any of her teammates.

Mitsukai flinched, being forced to a halt, and she looked back, only to be caught of guard by Shizuko's less than calm expression. She slowly looked from Shizuko to Shin as he caught up with them and landed on the forest floor beside them. Shin looked especially relieved, despite his obvious panic, but both of their attitudes seemed out of place to Mitsukai. But then she simply shrugged it off. "I thought for sure I was following the right trail...." She then added quietly to herself as she took a few paces away from the danger zone, but then she started staring passed all the boobytraps and exploding tags of mayhem, to see all the wind that basically created a barrier to the nearby river.

"You could have killed yourself just now!" Shin suddenly bursted like a ballon, "We'll never pass this test if you bombard reckless into the frey like that, Mitsukai-chan!" He ran a hand through his bright orange hair, slipping his finger under his soft beanie hat. "Are you even listening to me? No, of course not!" He turned, pacing a few steps back, heaving a heavy sigh.

"So I really did catch his scent..." Mitsukai quietly mumbled to herself, her lips curving into a resilient smirk.

Shizuko stared at Mitsukai with a rather cold gaze then she looked upwards at Chie who began to whine non-stopped. Shizuko grabbed Chie and held her trying to get her to stop whining but with no luck. The smell was getting to Chie too much. Shizuko looked over at Shin to see him pacing then she moves her gaze back at Mitsukai.

Mitsukai suddenly pointed 'epically' into the distance, straight through the danger of the mines towards the wall of wind she had spotted, "It's time to start our journey guys! Even when a hero is faced with danger, he will stop at nothing to reach his destiny!" She grinned, glancing back at them with an arrogant yet innocently optimistic expression, "And I plan on doing the same! Let's go! Through the mines!"

Shin's jaw dropped, "Are you... NUTS?!?!?!"

Mitsukai anime fell, then placed her hands on her hips when she got back up. -_-"

"This is a test, don't you see?"

Obstacle 1:
[list]A mine field separates them from the river.
The river is blocked by a thirty foot wall of dense wind.
and their could be other traps laying in between them.

Is this Ninjutsu, Genjutsu,and/or Taijutsu?[*]

Shin looked down at her portion in the mine field, and shaw by her faint foot prints that she already stepped on a few tags. She should have been dead already. Why is she not?
(these are the only things I can give you)

"You really are stupid, aren't you?" Shizuko stated while giving Mitsukai a dull look though her facial expression was still filled with disgust. Chie continued to whine. "Although... Mitsukai-san has a point. It is a test..." Shizuko looked over at Shin but then turned her gaze towards the whining canine in her arms and finished, "... but if we try to go through that thing, we are good as dead. The question is... if we should go through it or not and if we should how can we do that without setting off the mines?" Shizuko glanced over and stared at the mines that she could see close by and the color on her face vanished. She glanced over at Shin and saw his actions and her mind started to race with thoughts.

Mitsukai sweatdropped, but then pointed accusingly at Shizuko, "You're just scared! We can get through this, no sweat!" She then turned to look through the mine-filled path once again.

Shin, who had been observing Mitsukai's footprints, lightly tapped Shizuko on the shoulder, and pointed to the tags Mitsukai had already clumsily tromped over; and yet, nothing had exploded.

Shizuko glanced over at Shin and nodded, understanding. "Mitsukai-san, please don't move right now. If you set one off by accident, you could get killed." Shizuko stated bluntly but it was obvious that she was just worried for her teammate's safety. She looked back down at the tags Mitsukai had tromped over earlier... her mind was still racing with thoughts. "... Could this all just be genjustu?" Shizuko questioned toward her teammates.

Mitsukai's eyes widened as she stiffened, but when their sensei called out to them, she shouted back up just after he disappeared, though he would not be able to hear from such a distance in the first place, "COWARD!!!"

Shin simply ignored Mitsukai as he replied to Shizuko, "I don't think so... These tags are real, just duds." He proved his point by touching only the ones Mitsukai had already stepped on, and picking them up. "Perhaps, they're all real, but some tags and mines are fake explosives. Meaning they are real ninja tools."

Shizuko nodded understanding what Shin was saying. "... hmm." Shizuko stared at the tags trying to think of something else but nothing was really coming to her mind at the moment only racing thoughts although Chie had stopped whining.

Shin calculated any possible routes to get through all the explosives, but there was just too many for someone of his low agility to get through. Mitsukai, on the other hand... "Mitsukai, can you get to the other side of all these tags?"

"Do you want me to blow my head off?"

"I'm serious."

Mitsukai scoffed, and glanced around, "I'm already trapped in here, there's too many for me to get around. I can't do it."

Shin nodded and carefully looked over the scene laid out before him again.

(I'd love to continue, but I really gotta go to bed now. Ciao for now!)

Shizuko just watched her teammates, not really saying or doing anything anymore.

(Night!)

"Let me try something." Shin suddenly said, forming a hand sign and focusing his chakra. Suddenly a few tags here and there disappeared, allowing Mitsukai to relax a little. But as Shin released his jutsu, the tags reappeared. "Only some of them are illusions; genjutsu, in otherwords." He looked to Shizuko. Mitsukai tensed once more as the wires of explosive tags reappeared, and she felt trapped once more.

"So what's that supposed to mean?" Mitsukai cried impatiently.

Shizuko nodded then turns her gaze onto Mitsukai and answered, "There are fake tags that there because of our own mind. Some of the tags are made by genjutsu."

"Um..." Mitsukai scratched the back of her head, only confused even further.

Shin formed the hand sign again, "Let me try again." Within a few seconds, a certain amount of the tags vanished once again. "Can you get through now?"

"I think so." Mitsukai replied. She then took a deep breath, and moved her way through the real wires, taking advantage of her flexibility. Once she had the chance, she jumped into the nearest branch, looking around for more wires to set a course for her next path. She glanced down at her teammates, then back to the fiery wall of wind.

Shizuko watched as Mitsukai went through the wires with a blank facial expression; the smell of the explosives were still getting to her though.

"Can you get through too, Shizuko-san?" Shin asked, without removing his focus.

"Possibly... what about you, Shin-san?" Shizuko turned her gaze towards Shin as she spoke.

"Not while maintaining this jutsu. At best, I can walk straight through, but there are too many tags. I'd blow up the forest."

Mitsukai continued manuevering towards the wall of fire.

Shizuko stared at Shin then looked down at Chie then placed her on the branch. Shizuko leaped then started to follow after Mitsukai using the same path Mitsukai took. Chie barked after Shizuko but stayed where she was at, knowing Shizuko wanted her to stay with Shin.

Mitsukai suddenly stopped as the throng of tags and wires thickened, and getting through would be more difficult to maneuver around. She sat there, contemplating for a moment, and gazing past the sea of explosives towards the wall of flames. They were closer now, but as she looked back, she could tell that they would be out of ear shot of Shin soon. As she waited for Shizuko to catch up, she judged the distances between each tag. Once Shizuko caught up, she said quietly, "If only we could make fire."

Shizuko stopped next to Mitsukai hearing her comment and she blinked thinking. "... You want rocks or a lighter?" Shizuko replied back because she guessed that Mitsukai did not know any fire jutsus like she did.

"You have a lighter on you?" Mitsukai sweatdropped.

'What are they waiting around for?' Shin wondered, looking down at Chie, then focusing back on his jutsu.
